MANIFESTO.

We wrote this in Spanish. There's an English version —ES/EN toggle, top right. It's not a press release. It's what we say out loud when someone asks «why bitcoin?». If it offends you, you're probably the audience.

CONFIDENCIAL — NO

RE: why we do what we do

§1 THE PROBLEM.

The state's money —the sol, the dollar that pretends to anchor it, the euro, the yuan— is printed without your permission to pay debts you didn't take on, in quantities no one explains to you, in technical language engineered so you don't ask.

They tell you inflation is 3.2%. Your market says 11%. Your rent says 14%. Your life says worse. The gap between the official number and your experience is the precise measure of the system's contempt for you.

§2 WHY BITCOIN.

Bitcoin has a fixed cap of 21,000,000. Nobody controls it —not a founder, not a foundation, not a state— and anyone with a Raspberry Pi can run the code and verify the rules are being kept. That combination hasn't been repeated.

We won't ask you to compare with other things, or recite project names. If you want to compare, do it yourself: who decides the changes? was there a pre-mine? can you run the node in your house? Honest answers do the rest of the work.

§3 VERIFY. DON'T TRUST.

Don't believe us. Don't believe the podcaster, the influencer, or the senator who suddenly understands blockchain. Run the code. Read the whitepaper. Look at the blocks yourself. Verification isn't optional: it's the single thing that separates bitcoin from any other promise.

§4 SELF-CUSTODY OR NOTHING.

A balance on an exchange is an IOU. A promise, not a bitcoin. When the exchange collapses —and one always does— your IOU evaporates with their hot wallets. The list is long and growing.

If you control your private keys, you control your bitcoins. If you don't, you're an unsecured creditor of a private company that owes you nothing. This isn't debatable. It's definitional.

§5 WHAT WE ARE.

We are Peruvians who meet to learn. We are volunteers. We have no token. We don't sell courses. We don't charge to teach you how to generate a seed. We won't call you «family» or «degen». We talk like your uncles do, with verbs, no emojis, no promises.

§6 WHAT WE ARE NOT.

§7 WHAT WE ASK.

One thing. Verify. Before buying, before selling, before recommending it to your cousin, before arguing at a family dinner: verify. Run the client. Read three pages of the whitepaper. Count the blocks from genesis if you want. Verification isn't elitism. It's the most generous gift bitcoin gives you: the ability to depend on no one.

No form. No email. If you sign the manifesto, you live by it: run a node, custody your keys, tell your friends the truth about money. That's the signature.
